Andrew George {2 Months}

Andrew George you are two Months old!
Gosh I'd say I can't beleive it, but you look like you're about 4 months old you are growing so fast!

Your Dr's Appt isnt until April 9th, so I will fill in the weight later.. but you're a big boy I'll tell ya that much!

You are in size 2 diapers already

You are nursing like a champ and have been doing pretty well, Momma has lost a TON of baby weight already.. which makes me feel good, especially since I've been SUPER hungry all the time since starting to nurse again...
You sleep really good most nights.

If I lay you down around 11-1130- you only wake up around 430, and then 730 for the day which works out great because Big Sister sleeps till around 8 when we wake her. She'd sleep later if she could!

During the day its tough to get you to nap more than 10-15 minutes it seems, somedays..... unless you're REALLY tired. Last week you had a 2 hour nap.. which for YOU is great.. People reading this must be thinking 2 hours.. only? .. Uhm, yea.. They say colicky babies dont sleep a lot until they've outgrown it.. I cant wait till that day... It will make juggling 2 kids seem like cake I guess!

{a little freak out}

You love and need to be held a LOT.. and your little "freak outs" have gotten better where we know how to calm you down most of the time. The doctors say you have Colic, and Acid Reflux, but I think/hope both are getting better.

Freak Out: When we cant do anything to calm you down, you scream and shreik uncontrollably, and you break our hearts because sometimes we try and try and try, and NOTHING works.. we just have to wait till you calm yourself down.
I cant really take you anywhere alone which has been tough for me to deal with. Last week I went to Wegmans, and you freaked out as we were leaving.. I hate hearing the extreme mad cry..and I dont think its healthy for you to cry that much anyways.. so we try as much as we can to keep you happy.

ON that note.. you've been SMILING like crazy and even laughing which I know you didnt do as much at ALL a few weeks ago.

You can stand up! Well, when I have you over my shoulder burping, you LOVE to stand on my legs/stomach and lift your head and look around. You are very very strong.. You can already roll from side to back and front. I keep telling Sister Sass that she better be nice to you because you'll be bigger than her one day!

You can ROLL!!! I prop you up on your tummy and you can roll over left to right, and you keep your head up for a really long time. I dont think Sister was doing this until about 6-7 months.. I gotta check the blog in the early days....

You love your sister. You watch her play and sing, and you love her voice and know when she's around. She loves you too.. She loves "watching" you .. and she'll tell me, "go in the kitchen Momma, I'll watch Brother..

New Recipes!

This past weekend was Daddy's big 3-0!

We cant really get away and celebrate with two kids and all but we had a nice dinner at home, and had Grammy over since she's been over almost EVERY day helping us

I made these yummies... Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes, but wait.. WITH Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Buttercream Frosting... holy cow...

Someone enjoyed liking the frosting bowl...
And I was very happy to be using my good ole mixer again...
Its been too long...

The recipe and better pics than mine found here..

You basically make a vanilla cupcake, and drop a ball of cookie dough in the middle and bake.. then frost with the most delicious frosting I've tasted in a long time..

Voila!

Another recipe I came across was one for Burnt Cheese Breakfast Sandwich.

It was so delicious!

Basically.. you take:

Egg

Bread

Cheese

Toast the bread in the toaster. Then scramble your egg and toss in a skillet. With the spatula sort of make an egg "patty" square shape as it cooks. Then dump on a bunch of shredded cheddar cheese, and flip over as it cooks/burns..ha! Add more cheese tothe other side along with the bread so it sticks to the egg. Basically I kept flipping till I got a good burnt look..

So even though most days I can barely get dressed and brush my hair.. I managed to squeeze out a few new foods/sweets

Catching Up!

Its about time I post!

Ugh! Its been hard squeezing in time to do much of anything some days.. even pee!

But on Sunday me and Sass here headed to Starbucks for some inspiration, and a treat.

I really am trying to get out with my best bud when I can. She's so sweet, and has been really good in dealing with a little colicky baby ... but she needs her Mommy and Me time.

She picked out a vanilla milk, and then we got some Tazo Iced Teas for Momma and Grammy, since we were on our way to her house after our stop.

I keep telling Sassy Im making her a "coffee place" .. and I am.. slowly.. I've been gathering supplies and ordering cups, etc.. and I have a good vision, and some pinterest inspiration..

We got a little help from Starbucks too..

I had no idea they sold mini desserts...probably a good thing...

We picked out a red velvet whoopie pie, vanilla scone, and brown sugar tart.. All absolutely amazing.

And here's my finished products so far for our little pastry counter.

And Sassy and her brother are becoming fast friends.

He can see so much now, and he follows her and turns his neck when she walks away.

He knows her voice, and immediately starts smiling sometimes when he hears her.. its so cute!

And she's having fun being his little momma.

Giving him things like toys, diapers (me), and his paci, ... um, even when he doesnt want it.. ha..

This past week was gorgeous! In the 80's!!!!!

We were outside a TON, and Andrew loved it too..

I would put Sass down for a nap and take walks in the afternoon with him.. it was so nice

What Im Loving Wednesday {Short and Sweet}

If you read my blog, you'll know that lately my life has been very ... uhhh.. Busy to say the least.

But I found this yesterday at the grocery store and its helping me get through my morning... I even got dressed today, got a load of laundry done, and washed and put the spring sheet set on our bed.. woah .. big things happening today...

Iced Coffee.. just add ice..

At first I thought... GROSS!!!

I added LOTS of ice and some creamer to a tall glass.

I let it sit about 5-10 min, and it was delish!

I noticed the more the icecubes start to melt, the better it tastes!

Happy Wed!

Sunday Funday

Its been almost 6 weeks since we became a family of 4

And its been a rough 6 weeks, having a baby who has a few minor issues, colic, reflux...etc.

Some days he screams all the time, and we/I cannot put him down literally ALL DAY..

Things are getting MUCH better as Andrew is getting older.

He sees more, is cooing, laughing, smiling.. sleeping...

But we felt like it was a good idea to have a little date with our baby.. our first baby....

So we started our day at the Zoo.

Just the three of us...

She was so happy just us.. and so were we!

It was a beautiful day today around 55 and sunny.

She even got a toy at the gift shop on the way out..
Meanwhile.... Grammy was enjoying some quality time with her new grandson.
This rarely has happened in the last few weeks, either because he is screaming/sleeping, or Samantha demands all her attention when she's at our house..

After the zoo.. we had a Groupon to use at a cupcake shoppe across the street.

It was for a whole dozen! I dont know what we're gonna do with all these.. I gave a few to grammy. They have some yummy flavors like blueberry buttercream, guinness, red velvet, oreo, chocolate chip, lemon/vanilla buttercream.. so so delicious!

Samantha was beyond happy with our fun day today..

We had the windows down in the car on the way home, and she ate like a mad woman for lunch, had her "pink" cupcake and took a great napAfter nap we ALL ... all 4 of us headed to the trail for a little family workout.

Andrew and I walked, and Sassy and Daddy were in the jogger running.

I am between maternity and regular clothes... Meaning.. maternity is too big, and my regular clothes are still a bit snug.. so im trying to speed up the loosing weight process.... I know.. we just brought home 12 cupcakes.. am I kidding??? haha..

Im just looking to tone I guess.

It was so nice to get out and feel the fresh air.. and Andrew didnt make a peep

Andrew George {One Month}

Andrew you are ONE month old!

You weigh 11lbs

You are already in Size 1 Diaper

I think you were in newborn diapers for the first 3 weeks only.

You wear a size 3 month onesies, 3 month sleepers, you are totally out of the newborn sizes, and even into some 3-6 month clothes. You are huge! Much bigger than your sissy was at this age! I tried to put a few onesies of hers on you but you were already too big for them!

Nicknames: Musky. We call you this because of your little newborn piercing cry. Its pretty loud for a newborn! We thought you sounded like a Muskrat.. so for short we call you Musky.. even Samantha has picked it up

You are struggling with reflux, and are a little colicky in general. Its been tiring trying to figure out how to make you happy some days.

You sleep, but your gassy problems I blame for waking you up during your sleeping. Seems that you fortunately DO sleep the hardest at night thank goodness. You usually wake every 3 hours, but occasionally you'll throw a 4-4.5 hour stretch in.. I love when this happens at night!

You are very alert, and can see more and more each day.

You follow us when we walk away, by you -- you love sister's voice, so you perk up whenever she enters the room, or gives you sweet kisses on your cheeks/forehead.

You can sit by yourself and be entertained for a while, which is making it easier for me to get some things done.

overall you are so sweet and good natured.

I just feel so badly for your couple issues you have to deal with

it breaks my heart to see and hear you crying.. and the little tears that come out of your eyes.

Every day is getting better, and like all things, I'll look back and miss these days!

A Good Day

Okay, I've been feeling guilty the last week or so, complaining and going on and on about our hard time we've had, etc.. my poor little man. We have had a few VERY good days.. and Im sure they'll be even more frequent and better as time goes by.

Little Brother (as we affectionately call him) has had fewer "freak out" episodes, and we've been able to have a little fun shopping, crafting, cooking, even baking! Ahh how I've missed baking!

Andrew is back on my milk full time, and as you can see he is very satisfied with that...

{lounging after milk time.. }

We've even been spending a little time alone (Andrew) and the other night before bathtime, Samantha and I watched him have a little conversation with his fishies. So cute.

He's starting to coo and talk as he sees more, and can sit for longer periods by himself.. thank you JESUS.. not even a week ago I couldnt even put him down to pee! NO, Really!!!

So as Andrew is exploring his independence, SJ and I squeezed in a craft the other day. A foam Easter bunny kit. It felt so good to spend time with my baby.. She's been a complete angel since brother's arrival, and Im sure it hasnt been easy ... living with a screaming baby, and when he wasnt screaming he was locked onto mommy either nursing or being held/rocked/consoled..

Samantha Jane you are a sweetheart...
Okay.. this is not the kind of baking i'd pick if I had a choice, but I made a little Coconut Bread and I felt better about things.. haha.. I even got an eyebrow wax this week ... woo hoo!! Maybe next week I'll go nuts and get a pedicure!!!!!!!

Of course you understand, Brother isnt letting me totally be free... So I busted out my JellyBean sling, and he stayed put while I made an entire batch of chicken soup from scratch, and my coconut bread.. THANK YOU BROTHER!!!

So it was a good day. And today isnt that bad either. Its naptime as I write this post, and BOTH kids are sound asleep.. so I better get going so I can take advantage and get some things done!
