Communion & Playdate - We are alive!

Slacker.. I've been MIA..

Here's a couple things we've done in the last week or so..

Sunday, we had a communion party for my cousin Abigail.

It was during naptime, so my Mom and I went..

I made Abby this cross to match her canvas I did for her room

She had two cakes! One chocolate and one vanilla.

{me and my momma}
It was a nice chance to sit and eat/talk with my family and not be running around after SJ, or worried about her eating/not getting hurt, or having stranger danger with all the people that were there.

Playdate
Last Thursday, we went out to my friend Julie's house for a dinner/playdate and to see her new 2 month old baby girl Annabelle! Julie and I have been friends since Kindergarden. And have gone to the same Grade School, High School & College together.

Now we're having kids together! ha! Its so great to have kept a long time friend. We always have a great time when we are together.. Mostly laughing about how silly we were when we were younger .. and all the funny/bad things we did! ha!

{Samantha enjoyed Jackson's little playhouse!}

She LOVED Annabelle, she was giving her the softest kisses, and she kept going over to her and SCREAMING... "BABY BABY BABY!" haha.

{fuzzy pic-- Annabelle, Momma & SJ}

I think we may need a little SJ Cottage for the backyard..

She would have stayed in there all day!

{sittin pretty - 5.12.11}

Of course I volunteered for desserts ....

I made Peanut Butter Cookie Cups with White Chocolate Buttercream..

And Samantha ate one WHOLE one by herself, after a double helping of chicken, broccoli and potatoes.. uhm, Growth Spurt??? I think YES....

My mom was just loving holding this little one..

{Mom and Annabelle - 2months}

And Julie's precious son Jackson - he's 15 months...

The weekend was a wet one, but we planted the rest of our garden, and I have my hanging plants on my front porch so that makes me smile!

Pita Pizza and Art

So yesterday SJ had a rough day as you can see from the previous post.

Suddenly after the 2nd round of tylenol kicked in, she had a burst of energy, and was playing and being so good..

I was looking around the kitchen and noticed a huge bag of Pita's that we didnt seem to even start to eat..

Parsley and Mushrooms that were going bad.. so I put together a little Pita Pizza!

I actually made THREE pizzas while SJ was being good..

{toppings before being cooked}

Heres the ingredients I used:

PITA PIZZA

- Large Flat Pitas

- Mozzarella Cheese -Shredded

- Olive Oil

- Fresh Parsley - Chopped

- Oregano - Fresh or Dried

- Mushrooms - Thinly sliced

- Salt & Pepper - as needed

- Minced Garlic - 1 clove per pizza

I brushed really good Olive Oil on the Pitas, Then added my spices (S,P, Garlic,Oregano and Parsley), COvered the spices with about 1-2 cups mozz cheese (eyeball it to your liking). Spread over that very thinly sliced Mushrooms.

Bake at 350 until cheese slightly browned:

{kind of had a rustic look to it}

It was sooo good and really thin and crispy.

Flat bread / Pita Pizzas are the new thing!

I made 3 pizzas .. and they are almost all gone!

This is such an easy recipe!! You can use almost anything you have layin' around

I cant wait to try a fresh basil/tomato/mozz one, if Summer can please get here soon!

Moving on...

I feel like its been ages since I picked up a paint brush.. sad.

My friend is expecting a Boy so I thought I'd make this little sign, and send it along to her with her baby shower gift.

I love the ball fringe .. I just stapled it to the back of the wood after I was done painting it!

So cute to hang on baby's door, or your front door when baby comes home from the hospital.

Hope she likes it!!

I did get an email asking if I was still "open for business?"
And YES I am..

If you'd like any orders please just email me!

Just Art

Today's post is purely Art... ok and maybe a little update..ha!

I finally finished some projects!
The first one is for a customer, Ashley, who ordered this canvas for her son for his room.

She was inspired by the "Abigail" canvas on 3rd Floor Art's blog (who wouldnt be!) and he has the PBK Madras Bedding.. so this is what I came up with:

Ashley I am heading to the post office within the hour!

Next... The giveaway winner from my giveaway at Bless Our Nest last month. She wanted something to hang on their door with their initial on it. It is a 12x12 canvas.

So glad you like it Ginny!

Thank you so much for these orders.. I truly enjoyed making them, and it is such a wonderful feeling to finish a project, but better yet, to have all my customers say they love it!

I am almost finished with my order for Katie ... everything is ADORABLE!! But I cant ruin the surprise... so you all will have to wait till Katie gets hers in he mail!.. Its only fair! ha!

Art Progress

Besides cabin fever, forgetting what the grass and sun look like, one positive thing about being confined to my house this weekend, was I started and finished a lot of Art orders!

Like this canvas...

And this door hanger....

I can only show tiny hints of these beauties... I dont want to spoil anything for my customers! But when they do receive them, I will post many pics of my newest incredibly cute art!

Stay Tuned!

Before I Forget

I've been so busy lately.. nursing our colds, drowning in laundry, work, cooking dinners, sleepless nights, so I found a few pictures that I really want to look back on and remember:

This first one is current. It was waiting for me on the counter when I came home this afternoon. Samantha and Shea, our nanny must have taken a walk to the library or somewhere and she made this!

Oh! melted my heart... her first "official" piece of artwork. We color and scribble with crayons.. but this is the first thing she's brought home! Its proudly hanging on the fridge!

Next we have a funny.. Mat was sitting in the back seat with her and we were going somewhere (cannot remember) but she was fussing a little and he handed her a paper and said "here take a look at the sales"... just the expression on her face is priceless..

And lastly but certainly not least.. this adorable Halloween shirt came in the mail last week along with some awesome Halloween books from Samantha's fairy godmother and favorite Auntie Shauna!!!

Thank you Auntie!!!! xoxox We love you!
