WILW - Last Wed in Aug!!

I'll start out with a sweet...

Reese's PB Pudding Cookies
If you like cookies that taste 1/2 done and really gooey.. and you love Peanut Butter.. then hurry up and make these!

Sister helped me make them while brother took a solid 2.5 hour nap..
Yes yes it does happen every now and then!
 We shared with Gram too...
They are soo good.. I keep sneaking them as I walk through the kitchen..
 Speaking of walks..
This is what we do now.. we walk/rollerblade to Starbucks lately.. Sissy gets her "cow milk" Horizon Vanilla milk... and/or water..
 and sometimes a little treat.
I was also loving that we found a new park this week.
The good old parks we visit needed a break...
And it was a super toddler friendly park with small slides, baby swings.. yeay!!
And I was loving that it was a little cooler this week so I busted out the slow cooker and we had burrito bowls with honey cornbread one night... so good. We eat this meal at least once a week around here..

Day at the Lake

Yesterday we decided to take a little road trip adventure.
We packed the cooler and all our necessary gear (which is a lot with 2 kids!).. and we hit the road.
We headed North towards Lake Ontario to a little town on the lake
It was a beautiful morning on the lake.
It wasnt too hot or humid.. yet...

We arrived about 11am so we found a shady spot for a picnic, and ate our lunch.
I made sandwiches for Daddy and I, and made Samantha a little toddler lunch in her new cute container.

This guy snacked on blueberry puffs and water while we ate
Then I snuck away to nurse him in the car before we headed towards the main event...

I cannot beleive some days that we have two precious kiddos

The town has an Amusement/Carousel park.
And it just so happened to be customer appriciation day.. free carousel rides, free tattoos, animal ballons, games, cookies..

Sassy was in her GLORY.. riding every single ride....
and singing to herself the entire time. The only ride we went on with her was the big carousel.

I took a walk around the little beach town with Andrew, and he soon passed out for a pretty long nap.

Samantha kept on riding all the rides, and playing games, and who cares.. tickets were 25 cents !! I cannot beleive I've never heard of this place before... we're definately going to have to return.

I walked a few yards down the road to the little boardwalk shoppes area..
It was so cute, all these teeny tiny cottage boardwalk shops.. selling vintage things, candles, spices, ice cream,

food...

Candy, and gifts..

Everything was so adorable.
We went in one of the shops on the way out and Samantha picked out some vintage toy animals, sprinkles, animal crackers and little candies.

We hit the road home around 2:30 because each kid looked like they had had it...
They both stayed awake though.. and fussed the entire way home..
JUST GO TO SLEEP!!!

He's so stubborn...but he did pass out just as we pulled in the driveway
And she's fake sleeping...
We had such a fun time. And I heard there was a splash park that was down the road that we missed and an entire Main Street area with shops, and bakeries... Maybe its a good idea we missed it though.. ha!
We're planning to return in the fall to pick apples and visit the shops again.

Our Week in August

Here's a few pics from our week. It wasnt very busy but I didnt get a ton of sleep this week, and seemed that something was really bothering Andrew... could be a poop, could be his teeth? Who knows... but he was pretty high maintenance.. I had a few days where I didnt even get a break to throw in a load of laundry...
Monday we headed to my Mom's house.
My brother was there and Samantha and he hung out and had fun, while Andrew took a 2.5 hour nap.. I thumbed through some magazines and re-charged my enthusiasm for Bento Lunches.
I've ordered some Bento supplies and plan on making some really cool creations for SJ once school starts.. She wont eat at school.. but still.. it will be fun for her to come home to a fun lunch
On Tuesday, Andrew thought it was really hysterical to get up at 5am... and not go back to sleep!
I never ever hardly ever allow him in our bed anymore.. but I wasnt getting a break... so I caved and I nursed him back to sleep and we slept till 830...
Our summer garden has been very plentiful lately .. tons of tomatoes, jalapenos, corn, lettuce, onions.. etc.. AND.. we grew this Watermelon!
It tasted pretty good too.. on the mild side ....not too sweet.. but we grew it! Cool!
Wed, Andrew took a pretty long morning snooze since he thinks its fun to party during the night..
So SJ and I headed to the playroom/craft room ...I did a little organizing of this area below.
And then we made glitter wooden magnets...
She is certainly my daughter.. she loves when I have time to craft with her.!
Im trying Baby Led Weaning with Andrew
This means you avoid purees, and you let the baby feed him/herself.
Here he is with a banana... he seems to really like Apples and Bananas so far.
And today (Saturday) I scooted off to the craft store for some Mommy time.
I got some silicone cups, glitter, stickers, and just enjoyed looking around.
After dinner tonight Samantha was playing peek-a-boo with Andrew...
Boy no matter HOW crabby, mad, tired he is, he ALWAYS laughs and smiles at his sister..
Thank god!
tomorrow we have a little adventure planned ... I hope to get the blog post up for it soon, but that depends on how much sleep, or lack thereof I get tonight..
ahhhh the baby years... I'll miss this one day? Yes?????

Rest of the Week Pics {via phone}

The rest of the week included things like this:
Promised Pancakes....
I didnt think she'd forget when she woke up Thursday morning, that I did say if she went to bed good, I would make her chocolate chip pancakes in the morning...she remembers EVERYTHING
 Walk to School...
Everytime we take a walk I've been asking Sassy if she wants to walk to her school.
Im trying to prep her as much as I can, its the Momma in me, Im so scared she's gonna bawl her eyes out the first day.. I hate hate when she's scared...I really hope its a good-as -can-be expected transition..Its going to be the best thing for her!
 Laundry... mostly the Andrew kind...
He has been spitting up, drooling, puking... ugh..
He eats, and then wants to get on the ground and crawl, belly flop.. but with all that moving.. he ends up throwing up a ton too!.. I cannot beleive how fast a laundry pile can grow
 Groceries....
We went big time grocery shopping, and both kids were pretty well behaved...
Sassy always sits in the cart, and I usually strap Andrew to me via the baby bjorn.
 Belly Laughs...
He thinks sister is a crack up.. a few times this week she's said a few things, or made funny faces.. and he just cannot stop laughing... ahh melt my heart... I'd have 10 more babies if I could...
 Coffee...
This is my lifeline...Andrew had a couple tough nights this past week with cutting two teeth... Im so rediculously tired.. but ... at least I have my coffee...
My cousin says the same thing.. she admitted that she looks forward to the morning, because of her cup of coffee.. she asked me if that sounded weird/sad? Cant remember.. but the answer is NO WAY... I literally love my coffee in the morning, and I do look forward to it when I finally go to bed at night.. I love you coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!
 Swimsuits!
A little boutique by us had its yearly sale this weekend, and I found some really cute suits!
I got a bathing suit that was $94.00 ... for $14.00
Im nursing, so I only bought 1 suit, I have no idea what my "girls" will look like in 2013.. next year though, watch out!
We finished up the weekend doing nothing exciting.
I feel the "back to school" vibe happening as summer comes to a close.

Frozen Yogurt & Foggy Morning Walk

Lately ... going #2 is a challenge for SJ.
Im brutally honest on my blog because, I write it for me (us), and I want to remember as much as possible .. and I like adding little details...yes, even if it involves toddler bowel movements.
So anyways.... she doesnt go every day..she's been holding it..which as the days go on.. she becomes a cranky little 3 year old.. probably because its so uncomfortable..
I've added benefiber to her drinks, loaded her up with grapes, raisins, anything else we can think of to get things moving..
and once in a while she'll just GO! And its wondeful, but more often than not, she holds it, and its a weekly battle...ugh... This too shall pass? Right?
So long story short.. she went Monday.. and we tried a new Yogurt place after dinner.
You fill up your flavor, add toppings..
They had some awesome flavors..
We got Non Fat, Sugar Free Bubble Gum!
Sounds gross, sugar free? But we sampled it before we chose our flavor, and you could have fooled me, didnt taste sugar free OR fat free... BONUS!

The toppings bar was endless, brownie bites, gummy bears, chocolate covered everything, cereal, toffee chips, but I didnt want to end up with a $20 yogurt..
So we just added some cotton candy bits.. (amazing!), sprinkles, and a little fresh whipped cream.
Daddy and Andrew got a yummy Lactose and Fat Free Mango.. and said it was the best he'd ever had!
I think we found our new fav spot.
 Wednesday... 8-15-12
Little Man was up at 5:30am and coudnt fall back asleep..
He tried so so hard.. but just wouldnt settle down.
So after he was screeching (not crying)... in his roller/chair....
I said ...well... Daddy's home today working.. and SJ sleeps till at least 8..
I loaded him up for a walk on a very foggy and beautiful morning.
 He loves walks..
Didnt make a peep..
It felt like a cool October morning..
We made it a few streets away, and he was out.
His cute little face turned a cold stone pale white.. thats when we can tell he's in a DEEP sleep.
I transferred him to bed and he slept another 2 hours.
But I was up for the day..
I started coffee and laundry, and actually organized many many many boxes and bins of baby clothes in our basement.. Ahhh made me feel rejuvinated! I love organization! But with 2 kids lately.... the organization has taken a back seat.
I love this time in my life..and my babies are growing too fast already.
School in a few weeks for SJ... oh goodness, really???
