Weekly Wrap Up

Here's our weekly update via my phone pics
Monday...
Samantha had her 3 year Dr's appointment
I took her by myself, and told her if she was brave, we'd get a treat...
She did pretty well, even though she's extremely shy.. and I could tell she was very very nervous..
I prepped her by playing with her Doctor kit the week before and told her everything the Dr was gonna do to make sure she was healthy.. so she did pretty well with the exam.
She's 50% for height and 70% for weight I think.. they dont give me a little piece of paper anymore like when she was a baby..(tear*)
So she got a cupcake at a nearby bakery on the way to Grammy's house.
Grammy hosted a little pool party/bbq ... and it was so much fun!

Tuesday..
I received my awesome new gifts via Holly my Swap partner from
Meg's Lip Gloss and Mascara Swap!
More detailed post to come.. but I loved everything she picked out for me.. and cant wait to get all pretty!
Wednesday
we had our Nanny over and her boyfriend for a farewell dinner
She's moving to my favorite place.. NC!! She is actually moving to our same little town, and renting in our SAME condo complex.. crazy, right? What are the odds! Im so happy for her and at the same time, sad that she's leaving and will be far away..
We made grilled pizzas, she brought an amazing salad and dip, and I made these for dessert
from Pinterest of course.. Banana Caramel Cream Dessert!

Thursday
We visited our friend Julie who just had her 4th baby!
Taking both kids by myself was a bit of a struggle that day.. Andrew was OVER due for a nap, so we didnt stay too long.
I stopped for scones from Panera for Julie, and I treated SJ with her FAVORITE all time cookie..
Sugar with M&M's...
She ate a good lunch.. so ...

Friday
(and yes she is wearing the SAME shirt as Thursday..) I did wash it.. all I do is laundry...
Anyways..
We headed for the Zoo.
It was a mild night.. still hot, but we walked around and it wasnt too crowded
We rode the Carousel 3 times.. ha!
When we first arrived Andrew was snoozing...
All the animals seemed to be out... even our favorite Rhino...
Saturday...
we headed over to my cousin's house for a cookout.
We had hotdogs, I made potato salad, and the kids had fun swimming and playing outside
They were away when Samantha turned 3, so they gave her some new dollhouse furniture for her big Fisher Price loving family set...
She was occupied for a while Sunday...
 Setting up her house.. .
And I ended the weekend with a Peanut Butter and Jelly Bar via Ina Garten, topped with Vanilla Ice Cream... what a long week!
I've been meaning to get this post up ALL weekend, and just kept adding to it and adding to it..
Its been so busy/crazy... I try to squeeze in blogging all the time!

Sunday Funday

Its been almost 6 weeks since we became a family of 4

And its been a rough 6 weeks, having a baby who has a few minor issues, colic, reflux...etc.

Some days he screams all the time, and we/I cannot put him down literally ALL DAY..

Things are getting MUCH better as Andrew is getting older.

He sees more, is cooing, laughing, smiling.. sleeping...

But we felt like it was a good idea to have a little date with our baby.. our first baby....

So we started our day at the Zoo.

Just the three of us...

She was so happy just us.. and so were we!

It was a beautiful day today around 55 and sunny.

She even got a toy at the gift shop on the way out..
Meanwhile.... Grammy was enjoying some quality time with her new grandson.
This rarely has happened in the last few weeks, either because he is screaming/sleeping, or Samantha demands all her attention when she's at our house..

After the zoo.. we had a Groupon to use at a cupcake shoppe across the street.

It was for a whole dozen! I dont know what we're gonna do with all these.. I gave a few to grammy. They have some yummy flavors like blueberry buttercream, guinness, red velvet, oreo, chocolate chip, lemon/vanilla buttercream.. so so delicious!

Samantha was beyond happy with our fun day today..

We had the windows down in the car on the way home, and she ate like a mad woman for lunch, had her "pink" cupcake and took a great napAfter nap we ALL ... all 4 of us headed to the trail for a little family workout.

Andrew and I walked, and Sassy and Daddy were in the jogger running.

I am between maternity and regular clothes... Meaning.. maternity is too big, and my regular clothes are still a bit snug.. so im trying to speed up the loosing weight process.... I know.. we just brought home 12 cupcakes.. am I kidding??? haha..

Im just looking to tone I guess.

It was so nice to get out and feel the fresh air.. and Andrew didnt make a peep

Lovely Labor Day Weekend...

We had a great Labor Day Weekend...

(I was secretly wishing it away though.. since we find out tomorrow whether we have another sweet girl on the way, or a baby boy) But we had a great weekend, really.
Saturday we just hung around the house and it was pretty hot out..I did laundry, and we had yummy pork chops on the grill...

We started out Sunday morning at the Zoo bright and early.

We have a Zoo membership.. so sorry readers if the zoo pictures start to get real old..

Its a great place we discovered to take Samantha where she can run, play, and it never gets old.. Seeing the same animals over and over again...
She loved when the Sea Lion would come up for air.. she was screaming!

Sweet Lambie in the petting zoo section...

The "horsies" never get old either..

And we usually end our trip with a train ride.. she prefers to ride by herself on rides now, its really funny to watch her..

Labor Day was my kind of day...weather wise it was only about 64 degrees and dark cloudy skies.. I was so excited to put on my jeans and a sweater.. In the morning we ran to Target and the grocery store.. and Miss Samantha was up since 5am...yes you heard right..

I tried EVERYTHING to get her to go back to bed.. by 5:45 I gave up, and we were up for the day...she NEVER does this.. so I knew she would pass out by 12 noon..and she did.
It was just one of those moments.. we havent had one in a LONG time, I guess we were overdue..

She slept till I woke her around 3pm..

Then we headed to a small local Carnival/Fair where we promised her we'd take her on more "rides"she's got the ride bug, she loves them...and going by herself too... on her 2nd train of the weekend...

And she and Daddy won a new stuffed "gator" as she calls him..

We came home ate some of Momma's spaghetti sauce, showered early, and she is in bed.

Its cooler tonight supposed to be low in the 50's!! Im looking forward to good sleeping..

Busy Busy Sunday!

I woke up this morning and there were dark clouds and brisk winds.. we were on the very tail end of Hurricane Irene, we saw now rain, but had winds and heavy clouds.. I tend to be more productive on days like this, and today was no exception.

I started out by making my coffee, and then (after watching the premier of "The Pioneer Woman" on Food Network) I made her "Sunrise Punch"

Milk, OJ, Pineapple Juice, Cream, Merengue Powder & Ice Cubes.

It was really really good
Then I made some Cinnamon Sugar French toast on Texas Toast Bread.. so so good.

After our breakfast we didnt know what we wanted to do.. but it was such a nice "fall feeling" day, so I packed up some snacks, diapers, and we got in the car, we ended up at the Zoo!

Samantha saw soooo many animals, and of course we HAD to ride some rides. She went on the train twice...

And the Carousel with Momma

She wanted to ride a "mini" horse.. so that's what we did.

{hi daddy!}

We loved seeing her reactions to all the animals, she would get so excited... and it just melts my heart with happiness.. she is so precious!

We decided before we left to get a Zoo Membership.. so I think we'll be back soon, maybe even next weekend..

I love the Polar Bears.. they are so cute!

We left the zoo and grabbed a quick lunch on the way home. Samantha took a long long nap, and I got back in the kitchen.

I made homemade Chicken Soup, and Pizza Bites.

The soup I've been making for years, the Pizza Bites were a new recipe I found through a friend.

Its from THIS blog.. and a lot of her recipes look really good.

After dinner, Momma started uploading these pics to blogger, and had a little dessert... I had a craving for York Peppermints .. and Werthers. And finally we finished off the evening at another park, and then an ice cream cone from McDonalds on the way home..
It was a busy day.. and I know SJ will sleep really good tonight. We just had so much fun with her today, and love her to pieces!
