Anyways, we had a pretty good weekend, Saturday Momma hit up the Consignment Sale again.. Hey.. everything was 50% off!! Cant beat it! Then we went to Palm Sunday (Saturday) Church. And in the evening Mathew and I went to dinner at JoJo Bistro! Mom had given us a gift certificate to use, and we finally used it! I got an eggplant wood fired pizza, and mathew got calamari, and an amazing Beet Salad with Arugula! OMG... I ate nearly all of it myself which explains why I only could eat 1 piece of pizza!

Then I got a little crafty this weekend...
I have all these adorable dresses for Samantha.. But I find if they are not RIGHT IN FRONT of me..I pull them out of her closet.. and she's already grown out of them, ugh!

So I made this little hanger in the hallway.. to display some of my favorites!



I also made her these adorable personalized hangers. I figured they are regular size, so she can use them forever!



Cupcake Testing.. So I tested my crafty ability to create some flower cupcakes for Lily's Birthday.. They need a little (lot) of tweaking.. but here's just a sample of what I did this weekend, just to make sure I can tackle the task!



I'll make sure to post pictures of the FINAL result after Easter.

Thats all for now. We're preparing for the trip to Baka & Pa Paw's House this weekend for Easter and its supposed to be in the 70's!! Yeay!!

Its finally the weekend! What a week we've had!
Since I was weaning Sam this week I figured I deserved a night out! So I whipped up some cupcakes and headed out for a much needed girls night at Leigh's House.
It was so wonderful to get out and have a night with the girls! Good food, and mostly just mommy talk, comparing what our babies are doing, and what to expect, and giving each other advice!So Grammy took care of Samantha, and she did great! She took her bottle and Grammy got her to sleep nicely..

I thought I was just weaning her at night this week.. and then yesterday.. I was feeding her cheese off my finger, and I felt a sharp point in her mouth.. I thought she swallowed glass or something, then I looked a little closer, and she is cutting her first TOOTH!!!



Poor thing.. weaned and a tooth all in the same week! That explains a lot of her crankyness,
ha!
Anyways.. We did some errands today, which included stopping by a local church since I remembered they were having a Kids Consignment Sale. Thats got my name written all over it... So I went in with Samantha & got her about 20 adorable outfits for under $20, yep thats right!, including these cute dresses...




Then I ran to Wegmans for some overnight diapers, detergent and some buttercream frosting to "practice" with.. I have been asked to do a 1st Birthday Party for my friend Maria's daughter's party. So Im experimenting tonight to see if I can create some flower cupcakes.... we'll see how it all turns out!

Tomorrow is swimming, and then Mommy and Daddy are going out on a date!!

We're Gettin' There

Well, Day 5 of weaning Sam at night... We're definately making progress! Last night she woke up 3-4 times, but I only had to rock her/take her out of her crib once! If you would have told me this when I started Monday I would have never beleived it!



Yesterday we did some running around, went to Target where the "easter bunny" had to get some last minute stuff for our cousins & Samantha's basket - which I started putting together, I need to add a few more things...



We also made some pink rice krispie treats.. which I am always in the mood for... none for Samantha yet, but if she takes after her momma, she will love cooking and baking too!



Today its cloudy, and may SNOW! -- Are you kidding me?... So Sam and I are hangin' out. Im working while she naps & we're making Stuffed Shells with Arribiata Sauce tonight... YUM!

Tomorrow Daddy comes home from Florida.. yay!! - Pretty convenient that he missed out on all the weaning this week huh? ha! Well .. weaning was just sort of a command decision that I went with on Sunday night anyways.

Late Nights and a Rainy Tuesday

We've had a couple late nights recently. I am trying to wean Samantha from eating during the night.. and I guess this is the start of weaning her completely from nursing. I've been strong though.. and have NOT given in the past 2 nights. These are again the things you can categorize in the file "things no one tells you when you're pregnant or after baby" haha..

Im so glad I am breastfeeding her, and I wouldnt have it any other way, but I feel so bad when she is SO mad at me during the night for not doing what I have been doing for the first 9 months of her life.. But hey....we're not going to breastfeed till we're in Kindergarden, and I am ready I think to stop soon anyways. I am proud of myself for lasting as long as I have. If I can make it to 1 year that will be good.

We had a playdate yesterday at Andrea's house and Samantha met Charlotte (15 months) and Julie brought over Jackson (3 months) It was so funny to see all 3 babies at different stages, like where Sam used to be and where she'll be in just a few months down the road. I didnt take ONE pic though!

But this is a photo of after dinner last night. We ate very good, cheese quesadilla's and chicken, then we got a cookie!





She's getting to be a good little eater.. especially I noticed at dinnertime, I think she eats the most at dinner. Then she took a huge bottle for me, and passed out around 7:15 .. just in time for Dancing with the Stars! - She slept till 12:30, and then woke again at 3:30...sheesh.. Please pray for me that this too will pass..




Today is a rainy Tuesday...I think we'll just play inside today and work on walking & crawling.

Very First Post !

So I started a blog...ha!

My inspiration has come from a lot of blogging moms whom have inspired me to start my own, after reading all their wonderful memories, recipes, decorating ideas, and the joy of being a mom! SO thank you!

I intend for this blog to serve as a scrapbook for our family, and to keep in touch with friends and family as well.

Today Daddy left for work trip to Tampa, he'll be gone till Friday...BOO!, and its just Sam, Grammie and I in the house today. I ran quickly to Wal-Mart to get a few groceries. Mostly food for Samantha, since she really doesnt seem to like baby food (the mooshy stuff) .. So I grabbed some steamed veggies, fruits, bread, and waffles.

Last night I attempted to stop feeding her during the middle of the night. Im trying to break her of the habit. She woke up at 1:30am and I gave in..Then she woke up around 4:00am and I stuck to my guns! I gave her a couple sips of water, and just rocked her back and forth and gave her the paci. It took a WHILE mind you to get her to sleep.. (not like nursing her which is so fast) .. but she went back to sleep and stayed sleeping...even slept in till 8! So its a work in progress, like most things I am learning as a new mommmy..

We're off to church later, and tomorrow we got invited to go for a playdate! Fun!!!

Not bad for my first post I suppose, I am going to try and get fancy schmancy.. but It may take a little trial and error. I hope to one day have a very successful blog, and look back on this first entry to where I started.
