4th of July Weekend Part 2
July 4th 2011
We slept in a little today.. till 8 and it was glorious!
Another HOT HOT day in Ohio though.. sheesh was it HOT!
We hung around the house most of the day and had leftovers for lunch, followed by another cupcake...
{little firecracker}In the afternoon we headed down to see our friends Dan and Megan for a parade and a little visit afterwards. It was so much fun, but again super hot. Samantha loves firetrucks and candy.. and there was plenty of both at this parade, it took her a while to warm up to all the loud loud noises, horns, etc.. but after some time she was fine.. she even ran in the street for her own candy.. tootsie rolls!
Dan and Megan and their 2 boys.. and 1 girl (due in September!!)
Like I mentioned, it took a while for her to warm up, so she stayed back by the trees with "Daddis" as she calls him sometimes.
After the parade we headed back to Dan and Megan's house and hung out until about 9 or so.. Samantha loved all the "boy" toys, trucks and dinosaurs... she had a good time, and so did we! We wish we lived closer to them, they are so much fun to hang out with, and the kids got along so well!July 5th 2011
We said our goodbyes and headed home.
Unfortunately, Samantha, you did spend a good portion of your "actual" 2nd birthday in a car.
We stopped at fabulous Trader Joe's though before hitting the road...
We stocked up on all sorts of goodies, including a new product.. a Coffee, Chocolate and Sugar Grinder..I had to get it, it was only 1.99!
Samantha had fun browsing the raw nuts and dried fruits.. ha!
and she played a little chess before we got back in the car.
It was a great weekend with family and friends.
We're looking forward to her BIG party on the 16th when we'll have a big party with some very very special guests!! Stay tuned!
