Easter 2014

After spending months and months indoors it was safe to say we were thrilled that the weather was finally nice, and that we were hitting the road for Ohio.
Most days what you see below is how I survive... protein bar and caffeine...
The kids were pretty good.
They slept until we hit the Ohio state line..
But then we had a bit of a meltdown .... screams, shreiks, kicks, tears.... so I busted out my bag of tricks, and saved the day with suckers.

And then we were there.

the kids were happy with their baka, papa and swings..
they love the swings in Papa's yard..

And I even got a little business order completed and sent out.
and then I went on a little hunt for a jewelry box, and finally found this cute blue one below..
the shorts and napkins were a bonus. It just felt good to do a little damage.
With any luck I can wear the shorts in August??? Spring/Summer, where the hell are you by the way????
Naps were a-plenty on this trip.
I think its because my kids arent used to being outside!
We seriously spent more cold frigid days inside than I can ever remember... but I digress...
Anyways.. they were wiped out.

This lil guy... he sleeps anywhere.. just not through the night .. but thats okay
I remember when we used to put Sam in this crib at Baka's and she would be scared sometimes... Not Andrew. He does go to bed pretty good lately
The Easter Bunny had arrived!
Samantha was so excited.
She got a lot of cute stuff.. Minimal candy :)
Frozen book, Frozen coloring book, Tea Set (you can never have too many in my opinion)
New Nalgene bottle, Princess Soap, New Silverware, Yogurt Stars, Cadbury Eggs, Flashlight, Bubbles, Neon Crayons & Colored Pencils, A Chocolate Chicken, Ballet Sucker... I think thats about it.
NuNu's Basket
was filled with
Organic Lollies, Flashlight, Tub Foam Stickers, Max's Chocolate Chicken Book, Puffs, White Chocolate Sucker (that he gave to Sister) Plush Stingray
He was more interested in where Cleo - the cat was...
She was very excited about the Chocolate Chicken. We'd been watching Max's Chocolate Chicken, so of course the Easter bunny had better have a chocolate chicken in her basket!
Mr Gardener - He discovered his love of digging and worms before we left for Ohio, and he went right into Baka's garden where he left off at home
We hung around on Easter morning and enjoyed the sun.
I made the pioneer woman's pie crust and made a Flat Pear Pie to bring to brunch/dinner.
The kids BOTH fell asleep before 12 noon on Easter, so the inlaws and Teta Nina headed to the Easter celebration, and we let the kids sleep.. never wake a sleeping baby(ies)... especially when traveling...

The cousins...
We ate, they played..
We came home, and then we all felt sort of like this... (below)
It was time for bed.
We hit the road the next day and arrived home and back to the grind.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter, we sure did!

Kiddo Update {Sam & Andrew}

Two Crazy Kiddos.
The center of my life.
They have been extra cute lately
And for the most part, they really do get along.
If they do fight, its mostly Samantha gets upset because he wont leave her alone in her own space to play, or if he wants something she has or a turn doing something. We try to be patient with both of them, and I hope they continue to get along, but sibling rivalry is something I know and remember all too well myself.
Mister Statch
Nu Nu
Hunky, Hunks, Mr. Bunks
I am so exhausted as I write this post. I never sleep.
And sweet cheeks here is the reason. But I have no idea why .. He's been seen by doctors, allergists, ENT most recently (x2) & they all say he's perfectly healthy. So why does he wake up mutliple times per night?
I can barely form sentences somedays, Im a total zombie. So forgive me if this post has MANY errors, or is a bit jumbled.
He's two, and his energy level is non stop
He loves taking things apart, figuring things out, blocks, music, playdoh, sandboxes,
He is talking so so much, putting together sentences, phrases, It gets easier everyday to understand him. Now if I could only ask him "why for he love of God are you waking up at night?"
He loves "ice creams" as he calls it. Its the closest we can get to outside dining these days.. We know he'll behave for a cone...
He plays by himself & is so well behaved sans the occasional tantrum here or there.
His appetite is still slim.
But you can count on him eating the same couple things always... bacon, yogurt, strawberries, and any kind of snack/chips/grahams/crackers, etc.
He certainly is Daddy's little man. Its so cute to see them together. He calls him "D"... or Dee Dee... and sometimes they have boy time and go for walks or to the park together. My what a long way we've come ... I remember when I couldnt be more than 10 feet away from him or he'd scream and scream.

c
He loves to "go ni nites" in Sissy's bed (he pretends during the day) He hops up, covers himself up, grabs a book, and her leftover water, and sits there anywhere from 10-15 minutes
Its hysterical.

My almost 5 year old??

She surprises me every single day with how her memory and intelligence are ever growing.
She is so mature to me (somewhat biased? haha) But seriously.. Its very very comforting knowing she will be entering a whole new independent world next year.. The Big K...
I think Im in denial most days that she doesnt need me for a lot of things anymore, and she will be going on a bus in a few months... to school all day... Okay I better stop.. i'll get all weepy!
She loves school, and loves dressing in her prettiest dress up tights, heels and dresses every day. These three little friends in particular compliment each other on a daily basis its so cute.
She is still our good eater...compared to her brother that is..
She'll eat most all the meals we do.. even things like Ribs and Steak she's grown to really love.
And of course sweets... she and I carry the sweet tooth gene around here.

The weather has finally broke, and I hope for good.
Its spring break around here.. Next up Easter.
