Samantha Jane you are 14 Months old today!
You are in size 3 diaper. – And this is new, lately after we change you, I’ve been enlisting your help with throwing the diaper away. I ask you, “Where does the diaper go?”, and you make a “gggg sound” and then you go and take it to the garbage in the kitchen, lift the lid, and throw it in.. haha!
You weighed 23 lbs at your Dr’s visit on 7-19-10.
We think you have close to 8-9 teeth. You have all 4 front teeth on top.Two on bottom in front. And I think you are getting some.. not sure how many.. Molars on all four top and bottoms of your mouth! We haven’t even noticed, you drool a little here and there.. but you have been sleeping very well, so when you get a tooth we notice it is there! Ha!
You are wearing mostly 18-24 month clothes. I think we are saying Adios to all the 12 month clothes/onesies.I have started to buy you some fall things.. I just bought you an adorable leopard dress for thanksgiving yesterday, and I cannot wait till it comes in the mail!
This month, actually September 1st. We started having a Nanny come to the house 3x a week so Momma can work. Momma is back to full time. You did pretty good your first day, and every day is getting better, you really like Shea, and she takes you outside! Your favorite place to be lately!
You are more and more vocal each day. You talk in gibberish all day long and it is so funny. You walk and grumble and swing your arms and hands back and forth as if you are having a very colorful conversation.
You love Blue’s Clues. You say “blue” when you see the show and you yell when its “mail time” .. you yell ‘AHHHHHHH’ its hysterical (for anyone who knows Blue’s Clues. I try not to have you watch too much TV. And truthfully, Blue’s Clue’s is the only real show you are in love with at the moment.
1 nap, pretty good .. Yesterday you slept from 11am -2:30pm. Hello! Momma got so much done, and I even worked too! Ha! And when you wake up, you sit in your crib sometimes, and just play with your Ocean mobile toy, I had to go in and see if you were awake yesterday, and I don’t know how long you were playing… but it was so cute!
Please and Thank you is what we are working on with you lately. Every time you ask for something, or get something, We say.. Please.. and Thank You.. – You say thank you sort of .. its more of a “dsh du”… but I think you are catching on!

I think you are definitely taking after Momma with your Blankie obsession. You hated bottles, and binky’s, which is FINE by us. But you love your blankie. You bring it downstairs after you wake up, and walk around with it trailing behind you, and you love putting your face in it and rubbing your face back and forth on it.. haha! Well that is FINE by me..Here’s a little confession, Momma STILL sleeps with her “blankie” which I called my “boastie”. Its ragged and more than ½ its size, 30 years old, and I still sleep with it every night.ha! So carry on, and you can have your blankie for as long as you like! (uhm but only in the bed.. not in public please.. haha!)
You love your doggy Laney! We weren’t sure about it. We know you love Dogs, but having one in the house we were a bit cautious. Laney is the sweetest dog, with the best demeanour. She lets you do anything to her, and she is so gentle with you, even though you are not so gentle with her, ha! But you are learning. You give her treats, and make her sit (working on that one). And you were tickling her and you gave her a hug yesterday when she was laying on the rug. We are so glad!... She is a pretty good dog. I have no complaints, other than the occasional chewed up toy I find here and there.
But we've been having many days like this.. where all you want is Momma,
and all you want me to do is hold you...or in this case you are trying to get the camera.
All I can say is .. no matter what kind of day we have, at the end, we tuck you in and you sleep tight and we cant imagine life without you.. our precious blessing..
